Description of the Tuscan truffle and wine tour from Florence
After a 40-minute drive from Florence, we’ll arrive at the first cellar where the owner will enthusiastically show you how his Chianti is made, starting from the vineyard and ending in the aging cellar.
You’ll taste delicious wines including a limited production white or rosé, a Chianti and a Super Tuscan paired with local cheeses and their amazing extra virgin olive oil. Indulge in bruschetta or focaccia with truffle cream from a small company nearby that transforms the truffles into cream.
In the second cellar, you’ll hear stories from a young owner starting his vineyard and the production process up to the final result. Then, we’ll sit down to enjoy a wonderful hand-made gourmet lunch of truffle appetizers, homemade pasta topped with flakes of truffle, unique local cheeses and dishes seasoned with balsamic vinegar. We’ll finish with a delectable tiramisu or cream and fruit cake, paired with lovely wines.
After lunch, we head to the third cellar where here you’ll meet the owner, a charming young woman, who will serve wines from very old vintages and fine labels.
As if it couldn’t get any better, we’ll close the day with a taste of Vinsanto wine and chocolate. Vinsanto is a traditional Tuscan dessert wine, but only a few wineries in Chianti still make it.
